Gold-filled refers to a layered material, with brass at the core and 12kt or 14kt gold bonded to the external surface. Any gold-filled material will be 5% or 1/20 of gold by weight. This is much more than gold plated materials, and gold-filled provides protection from tarnish and wear.

• Do not spray perfume or other sprays while wearing your jewellery. Apply perfume first, and then put on your jewellery.
• If wearing a lotion or cream, wait for it to dry before putting on your jewellery.
• Remove your jewellery before exercising, showering or swimming.
• Store your jewellery in a cool, dry place, separately from other jewellery to avoid scratching – a soft cloth or zip lock bag works well.
• To clean, soak for a few minutes in warm, diluted soapy water for a few minutes then wipe clean with a soft cloth and allow to dry fully. Please note, pearl jewellery should just be placed in warm water, as soap can damage its lustre.
• Do not use a polishing cloth which will strip away the plating (if a plated item).
• Do not expose your plated jewellery to chemicals, including household cleaners.

Some styles in the shop can be made in argentium silver, which is considered hypoallergenic and suitable for those with sensitive skin. Argentium silver is an alloy with more pure silver and less copper than sterling silver, with the addition of germanium. It does not contain nickel.
